Dear Students,
During our Mythology unit, you will be given a few computer assignments (homework). Don't worry, they will be fun or educational (you will learn). To start, I would like you to read the following page and TAKE NOTES in your Language Arts notebooks. You may want to write down two or three interesting facts you learned by reading the page below. Enjoy! Mrs. Macdonald
First of all, good luck to the WIS Wolves Team in Germany. Let's hope they will bring back at least a golden medal! :))
Now, to your homework. Your homework is to conduct a mini-research about how the language and expressions in myths are used today, e.g. Echo and Narcissus are names that originated from a Greek myth. In the classroom, you chose to research two characters or expressions. Your task is to find information about the original myth, and take notes in your notebook. Then, find out how we use the expression or language of the myth today. You don't have to write a summary or a paragraph, we will do it in the class, only take notes.
There are lots of other resources on the internet but if you have any trouble finding information, please let me know at p.macdonald@fem.org.pl
Your assignment is due on Tuesday.
Good luck.

Hello Students,
I have been browsing on the Internet and found a great web-page that contains mainly creation myths from all cultures. The myths are quite short and written in a fairly simple language. Moreover, you can listen to all the myths, as well as they are accompanied by pictures. There is so much to learn about other cultures and one way to get to know other cultures is to read their myths! I hope you will enjoy the myths on the page as much as I did.
I usually enjoy reading stories written by students. I happened to find a web-site that contains short (some are extremely short!) student-written myths. If you are interested, you can read the myths on this page, or you can write your own and submit it for other people to read. Perhaps, we can discuss this in the class, when we finish writing our own myths!
Soon, we will explore myths from different cultures. I am personally curious about the myths you will bring to the class to share with your classmates and me. If you have trouble finding a good myth from your culture (close to your culture), you can check this web-page out:
